Bangladesh is now Ranked as the World’s 42 largest Economic power (GDP US$ 282.5 Billion at PPP, CIA WORLD Fact book, 2011) and 69th largest Exporting Country of the world (CIA WORLD FACTBOOK, November 2012) Bangladesh is Included in “JP Morgan’s Frontier 5 Economies”, “Goldman Sac’s next 11 Countries” NEXT ASIAN TIGER” One of the 11 countries is terms of Global Growth Generator (3G Countries).

Bangladesh is an emerging with a young population of more than 55 persent and a fast Increasing Middle class. The size of Bangladesh’s middle class population is even larger than the total population of Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. The annual consumption of the middle class people of Bangladesh is about US$ 44 billion which is much higher than GDP of many other Countries in the world. This growing huge internal market offers ample opportunities for Trade and Investment.

The Present Government has a VISION to graduate the country to a middle income Country (MIC) and to reach the GDP growth rate to 10 percent  by the year 2021- the year of Celebrating the 50 Years of Independence of Bangladesh.

Our  private sector strongly believe that this vision is achievable as we have all the potentials of success. The country has been able to maintain around 6 percent growth rate for the last two decades even in the face of global meltdown. Increasing trends of  Foreign Direct  Investment (FD I), Remittance , Foreign exchange Reserve, Export etc. are the sings of our success to achieve the targets. Trade facilitation, regulatory reforms and proper positive branding of country are essential to fully achieve our targets. We consider the importance of a national branding  to improve the image of the country.

According to –The New York Times “Bangladesh Once poor and Irrelevant to the Global Economy is now an Export power House” MCKinsey &  Company mentioned “Bangladesh the Next China” According to The Economist Newspaper- “In terms of the success of grass-roots the world” Chinese Ambassador in Bangladesh Mr. Li Jun mentioned “ There will be a high wave of Chinese Investment in Bangladesh in the next Three to Five years” According to The Economic Times-“Bangladesh is out of the Basket case” and American Ambassador in Bangladesh Mr. Dan W. Mozena mentioned- “ I Truly believe Bangladesh will be the next Asian Tiger-The Bengal Tiger”

So we Strongly believe that Bangladesh has an excellent  combination of its competitive market, business-friendly environment and cost structure that can give the investors best  returns. The only thing that Bangladesh needs is to make the rest of the world aware of the achievements and potentials of the country through a proper and effective branding strategy .

Important   responsibility rests on everyone- the government, private sector, politicians, academia and people of all walks of life of the country, Should co-operate each other to make the concept a success.

Bangladesh presently is truly   positioned in a transition point in its History; we need watch carefully how this transition happens for achieving our desired growth targets. Which will help the investors to know about the potentials of Bangladesh and a more about the positive Messages of the country.
